About
Ah, what to say? I’m Linda, a stay-at-home mom and a newcomer to homeschooling. My husband is in the U.S. Navy. I used to work in the legal field, in a past life. I served in the Navy myself for 3 years. Interests: Truth, politics, parenting, finally learning history, sound finances, spongebob.
I have considered myself libertarian-leaning ever since I first learned the term “libertarian.” I will rarely bring up religion but am Christian nevertheless. Is that a strange philosophical combo? I sometimes wonder.
UPDATE: The World’s Only Rational Man has explained why Christian libertarianism is not a strange combo. Go see ‘im. And the part about rarely mentioning religion turned out to be wrong. I’ve mentioned it enough to warrant a whole Category. Whoops, my bad.
Thanks to you and your husband for your service. J.C.
I would like to say thank you for the sacrifices you and your husband have made for our country. Thank you.
From one veteran to another, Thank you and your husband for your service.
A view of your profile,(from a comment at Proof’s) lead me here. Good work and God bless you and your husband!
Love the blog… you are very well spoken and write intelligently!
On this Memorial Day… although I am Canadian, my co-blogger is American and forever a Marine, even if no longer on active duty – I thank your family’s sacrifice for the greater good.
say, thanks! I’ll be returning the favor . . .
Linda,
Great to finally be able to read some of your blog posts. I’ve been busy the last couple weeks. Now that the hectic fever of my life has slowed down a bit again, I will hopefully be able to put more posts out again. Anywhoo, I was wondering if you would mind adding my blog to your blogroll? I have added yours as you seem to have a very well-thought out and similar minded blog as mine. God Bless you and your husband for both of your service.

Good lookin’ place you’ve got here. I’ll add you to my blogroll.
God bless your husband for his bravery and service to our country. Give yourself some props for supporting your husband in his endeavor.
Well done Linda.
Great Blog.
We the Vets will always be the family that know what it takes to defend our Country.
No-one can ever take that away from us.
The people that have never served will never know how we feel about this Country, and our desire to stand beside Her.
God Bless America.
As the son of a Navy man myself let me say as far as I’m concerned your blog is misnamed. You seem like a person of great import.
say thanks!
datechguy, I think the blog name may be a typo. She probably meant: NotEverInport… ;)
I say that as a recovering member of our nation’s canoe club with more blue water under my keel than I care to remember… :)
Nice to meet you Sparkey. A fellow crusty Navy crab is always welcome!
thanks to your husband and family for your service to our country, for keeping us safe. – God Bless!
Spongebob!
Ignore this pseudonym. I’m actually David Hasselhoff.
I love your blog! I’m adding you to my blogroll.
Great blog, Import! I am entering adding you to my Freedom Links blog roll.
Hi Linda. Nice place you got. BTW – I see little problem in your being Libertarian and Christian at the same time. (Cathy @ IB)
say thanks Cathy. ya’ll come back now, ya hear?
Thanks for the link earlier today, and I’m going to poke around here tomorrow. We have a lot in common. I’m jealous of your tags too, so organized. I might need to switch to WordPress. After the Blogger outage the other day, I’m thinking of jumping.
Cheers.
I thought I had your email, but can’t find it. Are you commenting over on The Telegraph today? No One Important is making comments on Nile Gardner’s article about Obama’s 2010 prospects. That you?
Nope, not me. Still at our aunt’s house with no internet connection. Will be back online reliably next weekend. Sorry for the delay to you and everyone.
I also thank you and your husband for your service to protect our country.
The pictures of you boys remind me of when my brother and I visited our grandmother on her farm in Halls Crossroads, TN> Talk about idyllic!
BTW, I agree with others – It seems to me The World’s Only Rational Man has the Christian Libertarian thing spot on.
Hi Linda – just saw a pingback to one of my posts from May. I’m liking what you’ve done with the blog! I’ll add you to my blog roll. I’m glad to have found you…
Husband in the navy, eh? I’m sure he’s suuuuper straight. Lonely nights, sweetheart? Well, hopefully your Bible /censored/.
Sniping at a woman and her husband on her blog’s “About” page? Time on your hands, dear?
As for NoOne, I’ll take a guess that given the choice between constant sex with some available sensitive, spineless, girly man women of the left say they prefer or a lifetime of reunion sex with a manly man–no contest. NoOne isn’t the one in need of a vibrator.
Thanks for sticking up for me, AH. Alas, I invited this, by commenting on a leftist site with my blog ID. It’s pretty eye-opening, to see how quickly folks like this devolve into bilious hatred. Also it’s apparent this person actually created a temp email addresses just to comment, so that I can’t email back to their real address. Talk about cowardly, lol.
Love that leftist tolerance.
So sniping after making a temp email for the purpose? Cowardly and idle? There are definitely better uses for such time. As for you NoOne, don’t fall for that ‘I invited this’ bit. You are not responsible for someone else’s misbehavior. You are welcome, though. Not that I thought you needed the help. Just for the past month or so I’ve been noodling the disconnect between the modern ideal men and women and the actual ideal men and women, stuff like how feminists want feminine men until they don’t. I’m still trying to untangle it all into a coherent post. She just hit you where my thoughts are. The retort came.
I always, always, always appreciate when other commenters defend me against trolls. I think it really helps discourage them, when they know others will circle the wagons. And goodness I know I’m not responsible for other people’s bad behavior. I just also know I can better avoid it, by not “poking the hornet’s nest,” so to speak. Sometimes, though, I just can’t resist, snort.
I look forward to your post about what feminists want from men. Hey, “offend a feminist” week is coming up soon, sometime in May. Maybe you’ll have it done in time for that.
cheers, my friend.
